Executive sessions
Did anyone else notice the little executive session party the Washington County Commission had on Monday?
The executive session, which was 90 minutes under attorney/client privilege, included County Clerk Lou Kern, Deputy County Clerk Kathy Fritz, County Appraiser Francine Regan, Deputy County Appraiser Bev Finlayson and the county commissioners to place a call to Terelle Mock, attorney with Fisher, Patterson, Sayler and Smith.
Why wasn’t our county attorney in there. Strange.
I’ll ask some questions and see where this goes. Your guess is as good as mine.

The county attorney was in traffic court, otherwise she would’ve been there.
When I looked over the list, it made me think someone is suing the county. And, in fact, the county is currently in a lawsuit with Marketing Partners, which is the co-op in Hanover (in some form). This suit was filed a while ago.
We’ll take another look at it.
So anyway, I don’t or can’t know what was said in the executive session, but I’m sure this was the topic.
At this time, I do not have the feeling that any sort of improper conduct is happening at the courthouse (I’m still upset about property taxes) but it doesn’t hurt to stay aware.
