Hotspots

People didn’t really care for my idea of trying make Washington a wifi city. But shouldn’t at least the library be a hotspot? That would seem like a natural fit since we don’t have a coffee shop… yet.

Im up for a Wifi spot .
Just got a call from Janet Keller at the library. They are actually working on wireless hotspot. It might be up and running this month.
Cool!
They’re also talking about a T1 connection by July possibly. It is free through the KANED network.
I am up for it! i am always looking for a good place to connect when out and about. Where I work a grand pays for the “milleage” on the T1 and PRI lines we have. To be honest our business class Road Runner is much cheaper and faster though!

AMEN
We just need a coffee shop now .
I read about municipal wifi several years ago when Philadelphia offered it as a service to all citizens. Several other projects followed, but looks like many fizzled out.
For a small community, I don’t think it would be a huge undertaking. Starting with a few public hotspots is a good start. (Clyde Library offers wifi access if you need to connect when you’re in town.)
to: this is a joke; we have a very nice place that serves coffee it is the swirley top not only coffee but they now offer breakfast, noon, and night specials
chicken fried steak was great saturday night. i really don’t understand every time washington needs something, it is another food establishment??????
lets use the ones we have
Actually, I think the coffee shop we’re talking about is the type that serves specialty coffees like lattes, cappuccinos, etc, and not the convenience store variety.
This is a high demand product that nobody in the county serves. I believe the closest place is Pony Espresso in Marysville.
I don’t count shortstop , swirley top to be a coffee shop . BRN fixed it for me . I should have said what kinda coffee shop .
If anybody is interested Pam still has her expresso machine she is using and would sell. It is too large to use at the house just for the two of us. I told her that if we sell it I will buy her a smaller one! It would be great for somebody in Washington and we will even help set up and train you.
