Perhaps one of the things that Clyde has going for it is that it is not in Washington county.

Clyde is going to be around for a long, long time. They all work together and accomplish things that need to be accomplished in order to assure their survival, which is a vital aspect of any thriving community.

Not too mention, it's one of the cutest little towns in the area. The city is very well maintained, clean and well-kept, and it seems that the majority of the citizens possess a great sense of duty to do their part in maintaining a welcoming small town atmosphere.

When the downtown was being painted, there were so many volunteers it was unreal. Same goes with nearly every community-organized event. People just pour out to offer their assistance. That is why Clyde is so successful, because the people of the town DO and ACT. Not just talk a bunch of yakety-yak and wish in one hand.

Funny how the two little towns of Clifton and Clyde are so close together, but yet so completely different in almost every aspect.

If you want to look at a small town that's going to be around for generations to come, look at Clyde. Do what they do.

If you want to look at a small town that's going to be a ghost town in less than 30 years, look at Clifton. Don't do what they do.

Each small town decides whether or not they're going to roll over and become extinct, or fight the good fight. Clyde should be an inspiration to a lot of other small towns in need of some kind of motivation.
