Break-in
Posted by Backroadsnews on Jun 15, 2009 in Uncategorized |
The Hometown Cafe and the convenience store in Barnes were both broken into last night.
I also heard that two inmates escaped from the Marshall County Jail in Marysville. Evidently road blocks were set up in Marshall County.
Don’t know if law enforcement was able to apprehend the individuals and I don’t know if the two situations were related or not.

Solved and arrested.
The two escapees from the Marysville jail were apprehended in Beatrice this morning. And they are related to the break-ins in Barnes. More info later (I haven’t even been into the office yet!)
Sounds like a plan to me… Marysville to Barnes to Beatrice.
A break in break out thing . Someone gave them a ride way to far to walk.:)
I think they “borrowed” a car from Boss Motors in Marysville.
Your funny mom
Thanks Joke! I try. But I wasn’t kidding. Last night the scanner “said” there was a busted glass door at Boss Motors, that was B/4 the news about the Break-ins at Barnes.
Here is a story from the Marysville Advocate web site:

ok I will let you pass on the B4 .LOL
Second vehicle may be parked in Barnes. Officers en route to check it out.
Yep found the 2nd car .
The Marysville Advocate just tweeted that there have been eight jailbreaks since they opened their jail in 1980.
Wonder if TD or others who have problems with the local sheriff’s department have anything to comment on that.
I don’t have any commentary on the sheriff’s department situation but to be fair you should mention that the jail in Marysville is considerably larger. Also, I suspect that the escape to prisoner ratio is fairly even across the state.
It’s like riding a motorcycle . It’s not the matter of if you are going to wreck but when . Nothing is 100% safe or secure . The only thing that we can do is hope that it does not happen . Were their is a will their is a way . The inmates have nothing but time on their hands .
Dan: to be sure, you better look at Washington’s escapes and the ratio to prisoners. Seems we had our share at least, before the new jail. The new one has been in operation how long? Give it a little time to catch up.
