Keep track of your local government with this new service from the WC News/ Backroads Newsroom
Well folks, I’m probably going to kick myself for taking on this extra responsibility, but as I move toward making the Washington County News into the ultimate news and information portal for Washington County I have decided to offer a new service.
Check on the Local Government Minutes site that has now been created at http://govminutes.wordpress.com/
This site is brand new, but once I start gathering the meeting minutes from all of the local school board and city councils as well as the Washington County Commission, I will post them on this site, as written by the board clerks.
We only cover certain meetings for the Washington County News, so this will allow you to check out the minutes of each government entity so you can stay aware of what your local elected officials are up to.
As with anything new, I am trying this on an experimental basis. If it is too much to keep up with, or if it eats away at the readership of the Washington County News and risks its future, I may pull the plug.
There are only a few meeting minutes posted on it so far, but check it out and let me know what you think.
