Lucky shots

I am by no means a sports photographer. My theory is, take a LOT of shots and hope two or three are good enough for print. Often, our decision on what goes in the newspaper is based more on a clear action shot than who is actually in the photo.
There are times where we might have one actual good shot out of 20 to use. We’ve been accused of bias before on who we put in the newspaper. That is not the case. We just don’t want to put a blurry picture in the paper.
Here are two shots from the last two weeks at Clifton-Clyde games that I feel I was very lucky with. Most of it is anticipation of something happening and hoping the camera goes off at the right time. Most of the time, it is nothing good. But I was pretty excited about these two!
