Josh,
I don't plan to kill it, my plan is to re-imagine it. The news update aspect is what I'm moving to Facebook, because it is a better venue for that.
On here, I want to go a different and more consistent direction, but I have some thinking to do on that before I announce my exact plans.
And you need to bite the bullet and get on Facebook. I was a long holdout and now I've gone nuts with it. Bill G. gives a little warning above, but he is a very active Facebook user.
If you don't want to attract to much attention on there, you can do like many people do and just open a page, don't friend too many people and never comment and just stalk. The best way to convince people you are not active on Facebook is to not upload a profile picture. Everyone will think you started the page and then never checked it again.
But you will find lots of interesting stuff and eventually you'll want to be an active reader and commenter. Lots of people comment on others' posts, but don't post themselves, which is fine.
And really, some people get carried away, but if you're normal about it, and don't get too involved with Farmville, you could literally get on and read the latest news and get off in like 30 seconds. Do that a few times a day and you'll never miss anything, yet you've only put a total of like 4-5 minutes into Facebook each day.

I think it is a travesty that this blog will die. I probably checked it 5 times a day and it was my link to Washington County.

I could but will not be getting a Facebook account as I see it as an addictive spawn of the devil that is a huge security risk no matter what the privacy settings.

That said, my wife uses it. LOL

Thanks for what you had here Dan,

Josh

Just one point of clarification. Facebook is not "free" but you don't pay with money. You instead pay with your identity and access to your network of family, friends and acquaintances which in turn generates huge revenues for Facebook. As long as you are ok with that, and can stay on top of the service's ever-changing policies regarding privacy, it is a wonderful thing.

Caleb,

Well said....Your dad should be very proud of you and the way you said what you had to say in a mature manner....much more mature than many of the "adults" on here.

My son Brad has had Mr. Cozad and Mr. Wilson and while their styles are different he likes them both. I feel like they are both fair and I was told by my son that the "he said/he said" situation was actually, as Caleb said, due to a football player and not Mr. Wilson. Saying that the boys had the guts to play is not putting down the boys that didn't....some people just choose to take it that way and that is their choice.

This is another example of parents getting into pissing matches over something that should be enjoyable for their kids. I think that all parents should have to take a course each year on sportsmanship because I see where our children have better sportsmanship conduct than most of the parents.

Let's take a lesson from our kids and chill out a little about sports. If you don't like em, don't watch em. If you don't know the whole story then don't say that you do and the best lesson of all....if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all!!
