As a cost-saving measure, USD 223 Barnes-Hanover-Linn will have their last day of school on Friday, May 15 instead of Thursday, May 21.

There is discussion in USD 223 about combining two classes into one in Linn Elementary School. Evidently a group of Linn patrons was at the meeting last night opposed to that proposal.

The USD 223 board voted last night to cut golf at Hanover and Linn and cross country and dance at Hanover (Linn has had neither for a few years).
I’m waiting to hear more about the meeting from our reporter who was there.

Rick Simoncic, principal at Larned High School, has verbally accepted an offer to be the new superintendent at USD 223 Barnes-Hanover-Linn. He was offered the job after the board approved the action at a meeting on Tuesday night.
